Please know that this is Spoiler Free. Last night I was fortunate to be able to see The Batman two days early. The new Matt Reeves adaptation staring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz was everything I hoped it would be.
I am torn, as I love Michael Keaton for his iconic portrayal, and Ben Affleck for the physicality he brought the the Caped Crusader, but then walked in Robert Pattinson and delivered on both. I will wrestle with who my favorite Batman is for a long time to come, but for a stand alone movie, that decision has been made. Matt Reeves The Batman is now my #1 Batman movie.
The quality of the visuals was stunning, as Gotham was brought to life with intense darkness and stunning backdrops. Every shot seemed to be meticulous in how it was captured.
The portrayals the characters, from Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, to Zoe Kravitz as Salina Kyle, all the the way through each actor brought a unique flavor to their role, with Paul Dano bringing an ominous intensity to the Riddler on par with the late Heath Ledger's Joker.
I can not heap enough praise on this movie, and I will definitely be returning to see it again in theaters, as this movie deserves to be seen on the big screen, in Dolby or IMAX being recommended.
What do you think? Have you seen it? Tell me what you think.
